DESCRIPTION:
Using curriculum specially designed by U.S. Masters Swimming, certified instructors will teach students how to swim, feel safe in the water, and enjoy the aquatic environment. This program is for adults (18+) with limited to no prior swimming experience and those with a fear of water who wish to learn the basics of swimming:
- Introduction to the water/overcoming fear of the water
- Breathing and submersion
- Floating and gliding (front and back)
- Freestyle and breathing
- Treading water
- Jumping into deep water
- Pool exit
- Other strokes (elementary backstroke, breaststroke)
- Practice habits and training plans
COVID-19 PROCEDURES:
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this group program is limited to 4 total participants. Each participant will learn in their own 20-yard shallow water lane. Swimmers will have access to stairs for entry and exit. All equipment used will be disinfected thoroughly before and after classes or will come in manufacturer packaging. Instructors will teach from the deck, wearing masks. Physical contact between instructors and participants will be strictly limited and used only when necessary or for emergencies. Participants will be taught in water less than five feet deep.

Pre-registration and a phone consultation with a certified instructor are mandatory for this program.
