July 1, 2020
Dear Lakeside Member,
Lakeside Swim Club is pleased to have you as a part of our summer of 2020. The reservation system for the adult lap swimming program has evolved. Announcements of format and time changes have occurred several times over the past month.
Due to the recent spike of Covid-19 cases in Jefferson County, Kentucky, and across the United States, we have made the decision to cancel the two swimmers to a lane as we previously announced last Thursday, June 25. The two to a lane program is scheduled to begin Friday, July 3. Due to the timing of the announcement and implementation of the reservation system, we will have to implement the two to a lane program Friday, July 3 through Tuesday, July 7. Our goal for these 5 days is to work with our members to group swimmers together who have similar swimming abilities. We ask for your patience during this 5-day period.
Beginning July 8, we will return to the lap swimming program established in June:
- 1 hour 20 yard lap lanes
- 1 hour 25 yard lap lanes
- 30 minute 25 yard lap lanes
If two members of the same household wish to share a lane, this will be allowed. One member of the household shall reserve the lane, the other will sign a waiver upon check in.
Lakeside has always maintained the strong philosophy of safety for our members. Our goal in establishing the two to a lane program was to increase member availability. Nonetheless, this decision is more important to decrease health risk.
We are asking our members to continue to honor the three scheduled swims per week. With over 700+ users, this honor system will allow members the ability to select and schedule times conducive to their life schedules.
The 15-minute grace period for tardiness is still in effect. If you are not present for your time slot after 15 minutes, your lane may be given to a walk-in user.
The reservations for weight room/gym usage will continue as scheduled.
Low impact aerobics programs have returned. Please visit our web page for more information.
We trust you understand the decisions and will continue to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of swimming and exercise.
We wish all of you a happy and safe Fourth of July celebration.
Sincerely,
The Lakeside Staff and Board of Directors
