JOB DESCRIPTION

• Lifeguard must be 15 years of age or older by May 1, 2026.
• Lifeguard must have current and valid Lifeguarding and CPR certifications from the American Red Cross or equivalent certification.
• Employee must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, as well as after school hours.
• Employee shall be knowledgeable of the club’s policies, procedures, regulations, and programs.
• Employees must participate in new employee training sessions, lifeguard in-services, and
  lifeguard trainings.
• Lifeguards are responsible to the Aquatic Management and Supervising staff.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Be responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
• Enforce all rules and regulations of the Lakeside Corporation as they appear in the Lakeside Membership Information, Club Facility Rules and Regulations Booklet and the Lifeguard Operations Manual.
• Control crowds and maintain a safe swimming and deck environment.
• Prevent dangerous and hazardous conditions from existing in and at Lakeside.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Be in proper uniform at all times.
• Maintain high level of physical fitness in swimming and rescue skills.
• Be professional, alert, courteous, and tactful.
• Report to assigned stations promptly prepared to lifeguard.
• Be in a constant state of preparedness to recognize and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Assist in the inspection of the facility on a daily basis and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Ensure all rescue/safety equipment is in proper order and in readiness.
• Keep unauthorized personnel and equipment off the lifeguard chair.
• Compete records and reports.
• Assist in keeping the facility clean and litter free.
• Assist in program and special event set-up and supervision.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
