Mr. Jack Thompson, fondly known as Mr. Lakeside, gave himself unselfishly to Lakeside from 1946 through the 1990's.

Mr. Thompson was elected to the board of directors in the 1940's. He served as the Lakeside club manager from 1949 - 1980 and due to his diversified talents, held other positions at Lakeside including swim coach, concession stand manager, club historian, gate attendant, and even lifeguard.

The Lakeside SeaHawk Swim Team presents the Jack Thompson 110% award annually to a swimmer who is a successful, dedicated individual who maintains a steadfast perseverance in the sport. These are the traits which Mr. Thompson gave to lakeside and the team.

The Jack Thompson swim pavilion was named in 1983 to honor this great man who gave many untiring hours of his life to the Lakeside Swim Club.
